About NYC

Arguably the most exciting city in the world, New York likely needs no introduction.  With a wealth of cultural activities, and great food, this city never sleeps. Useful NYC links include:

Our Community: Washington Heights and Inwood

Washington Heights and Inwood are the two northernmost neighborhoods on Manhattan Island.  Columbia University Medical Center has been a fixture in this community for over 70 years.  This vibrant neighborhood offers trainees to work with an underserved patient population, now mostly comprised of recent immigrants and largely from the Caribbean and Latin America, making it one of the most culturally diverse communities in the city.   The Washington Heights neighborhood, where CUMC is mainly situated, is fast becoming one of New York’s hottest residential communities.  While it is only a short subway ride to midtown (subway lines 1, A and C), it has a warm community atmosphere and a real neighborhood feel.
