Ongoing Research:
Cognitive effects in dual-task tracking. Vehicle operation (driving and piloting) requires simultaneous performance of tasks which can lead to performance decrements. The effect of dual-tasking in vehicle operation is being investigated behaviorally and with neuroimaging.
Effects of sleep deprivation on executive functions. Behavioral and neural consequences of sleep deprivation on dual-tasking are studied with fMRI and TMS to understand the deficits associated with sleep deprivation.
Function connectivity in executive control. Using multivariate techniques such as SEM, ICA, MLM, and DCM to model functional connectivity between the prefrontal cortex and lower order regions. The link between functional connectivity and behavioral performance is also examined.
