The Laboratory for Informatics, Complexity and Organizational Study is a research and training laboratory that promotes excellence in organizational performance among public health organizations. LICOS:
- Uses, researches and teaches a new organizational paradigm integrating several key practice domains--informatics, cognitive and systems science, organizational and management theory and visual analytics--to derive contextual meaning from data to transform our healthcare enterprise into a truly preventative model
- Educates and trains students for careers in research on complex adaptive systems using systems science methodologies
- Provides organizational assessments and consults with public and nonprofit thought leaders/managers applying network analysis and visual analytics coupled with organizational/management theory as decision support tools.
The Laboratory for Informatics, Complexity and Organizational Study applies network and management theory and research methods to improve communication, practice, and performance in public health systems.
