Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
The Columbia University IACUC acknowledges the extensive medical advancements that are the direct result of animal research. We strive to provide guidance to the scientific community in fulfilling the obligation to conduct animal research with the highest scientific, humane and ethical principles.
The Committee fully accepts its responsibilities to ensure the humane care and use of animals in all activities related to research testing and education.
Research is conducted in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and policies governing the use of animals in research, including the Public Health Service Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.
