The Pharmacology Department Retreat will be held on November 4, 2011 at the Harmonie Club, N.Y.C.
As you know, November 4th is the date for our Departmental Retreat, to be held at the Harmonie Club in New York City (4 East 60th Street, next to Central Park) from 9:00am to 7:00pm. We have a fantastic program lined up that includes a continental breakfast, talks and posters displaying the research ongoing in the department, a keynote lecture by Dr. Richard (Dick) Horn - Department of Physiology & Biophysics at Jefferson Medical College, and a great buffet lunch. The title of his talk is "Role of Electrostatics in Gating of Ion Channels" and the day will culminate with a wine and cheese reception, live music by R&B (funk) band Intersection led by Dick Horn, and awards for best talk and poster.
The success of the retreat depends on full representation of research from throughout the department, so we encourage all researchers and students to submit an abstract and plan to present their work as a talk or poster. This is a fantastic venue for student and postdoc presentations and feedback.
Please submit your presentation title, authors, and abstract by email to Karen Allis by Thursday, October 6th.
