The four-year Medical School for International Health is constructed in a manner similar to traditional North American M.D. programs. The first two years emphasize the study of the basic sciences and body systems, while years three and four are devoted to clinical clerkships and electives.

MSIH Medical School for International HealthHowever, this program is unique in that the study of Global Health is integrated within all four years with distinct global health courses and through the insertion of relevant topics within the conventional medical courses. The chart above shows the global health coursework in green, along with a month-by-month breakdown of coursework over the four years of study.

The clinical teaching in the third and fourth years emphasizes hands-on global health experiences in structured clinical settings in different communities and countries.
